LaVarr McBride is a professor at Pennsylvania State University and works as a trainer for Building Hope Today on their Education Team. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Sociology. He retired from the Administrative Office of the United States Courts in Washington, DC, and served as a state parole officer and a Senior U.S. Probation Officer for the U.S. Courts. He currently serves as a consultant in violent crime cases as a liaison for victims and surviving family members, working with the Office of Military Commission at the Pentagon and with other federal and state courts throughout the country. LaVarr has written two books, "Through a Convicts Eyes," and "Standing in the Dark," with Kendall Hunt Publishing.
