Greg Smith is the law enforcement/community programs trainer and Executive Director of the Kelsey Smith Foundation. He has served in this capacity since 2007. He is a Special Deputy Sheriff with the Johnson County (KS) Sheriff's Office and his duties include government affairs, veteran affairs, and crime victim advocacy. He joined the sheriff's office in 2017 and is beginning his 24th year in law enforcement having served on agencies in South Carolina, Missouri, and Kansas. Greg is Kelsey's father. He and Missey Smith, his wife, advocate for the Kelsey Smith Act, a law that assists in the location of persons in harm's way. The law was inspired by the events of Kelsey's case and has been passed in 27 states.
