Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a highly prevalent and substantially underdiagnosed sensorimotor disorder. Increased recognition and management of RLS, an often debilitating condition, can lead to an improved quality of life and potentially improved overall health for the many who suffer from it. This course will focus primarily on the current diagnostic standards and the management of RLS.
Learning Objectives:
Evaluate patients with restless legs syndrome (RLS; Willis-Ekbom Disease [WED])
Differentiate RLS (WED) from periodic limb movements and periodic leg movement disorder
Recognize which evidence-based treatments are beneficial for restless legs syndrome
Identify common side effects of therapies for RLS (WED)
