AIN-93G/M are diets formulated from semi-purified ingredients that were designed to meet rodent nutrient requirements. They are widely used in nutrition research and fundamental for standardizing nutrition experiments among laboratories. There have been advancements in our knowledge of nutrient requirements since AIN-93 diets were formulated 30 years, but the formulae have not been adjusted to incorporate this information.
The goal of the session is to determine if there is a consensus among the scientific community for a re-evaluation of the AIN93 formulation.
Should the AIN-93 Rodent Diet Formulas be Revised?
