Kelly Parker is a PhD student at North Dakota State University. She is dual-majoring in exercise science & nutrition as well as gerontology. Her research revolves around preventing and slowing the progression of chronic diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer's disease through lifestyle modification and behavior change. She focuses on increasing dietary antioxidants through whole food sources and increasing habitual physical activity. She resides on a small hobby farm with her husband and their numerous dogs and cats. They raise and manage honey bees, chickens, and a large garden. She also works with her two horses (who constantly call her out) to improve as a rider and person at equitation, dressage, and jumping.
