Representing: HarperCollins Authors on the Importance of Diverse Characters
On-Demand
Fiction can tell diverse stories of all shapes and sizes. A story of magical realism that includes two African-American families in Harlem, a man living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy who has witnessed a kidnapping outside his home, a love story between two men set in the 1750s. All of these stories are explored in this program, featuring authors Morgan Jerkins, author of CAUL BABY; Will Leitch, author of HOW LUCKY; and Cat Sebastian, author of THE QUEER PRINCIPLES OF KIT WEBB. Everyone should be able to see themselves represented in the stories they read. We are excited to explore books with three very different experiences during this event.
