Janet Lee is Dean Emerita, Regis University, Denver, Colorado. Since her Peace Corps Service in Ethiopia in the 1970s, she has had many opportunities to travel and volunteer abroad including an entire semester as the shipboard librarian with the Semester at Sea. She has participated in publishing and literacy training in Nicaragua and in several regions of Ethiopia, while helping to established children’s libraries in Ethiopia. From 2017-18, she was selected as a Fulbright Scholar and was assigned to the University of Aksum, in Axum, Ethiopia, where she also volunteered at the Axumite Heritage Foundation Library. During the Fulbright, she co-taught a Masters-level course in the Information Science department of Haramaya University, in Harar, Ethiopia, entitled Digital Libraries. She has edited/served on editorial boards for a number of journals including: Colorado Libraries, International Leads, Collaborative Librarianship, and Jesuit Higher Education as well as several library related newsletters. She also serves on several library committees including: International Sustainable Library Development, Africa sub-committee of the International Relations Committee, International Library and Cultural Exchange Interest Group of the Colorado Association of Libraries.
