Christine Peterson has been involved in both technology and libraries throughout her career. Currently, she serves as the Engagement & Emerging Technologies Coordinator for Amigos Library Services, where she focuses on both membership and supporting SimplyE services.
She actively serves on the SimplyE Advisory Council and the Texas Library Association’s Innovation & Technology Round Table’s Executive Board. She has also worked on the Charlotte Initiative, the NISO FASTEN standard, the Texas Z39.50 standard, and has served on the Executive Board of the Library & Information Technology Association.
Previously, Christine worked for the Texas State Library & Archives Commission, teaching and consulting in the many areas of library technology. She worked for multiple academic libraries, transitioning them from card catalogs to integrated library systems, and from CD-ROM databases to online.
Christine has a Bachelor of Science in Music and Religious Studies and a Master of Library Science, both from Indiana University-Bloomington. With a sustained passion for music, Christine enjoys accompanying local soloists, plays handbells in a local group and is out at least three times a week dancing – ballroom, Latin and country!
