The responsibility for creating, editing, sourcing, and publishing content for students is important work. Why? Because content matters. What students read can affect how they see themselves and others. Texts must act as mirrors and windows. When students see themselves reflected in mirror texts, they are empowered. When they see others different from themselves in window texts, their worldview expands to help them develop empathy, appreciation, and understanding.
In this ALA Webinar, join presenters from Reading Plus and Highlights Magazine for a discussion about content for students and how the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion are central to their work and mission.
