Data analysis and peer comparison have become essential skills for library professionals, but it can sometimes feel like a daunting task. In this session, attendees will learn from data-driven public library staff about the latest resources for data analysis and peer comparison that bridge existing data knowledge gaps and pave the way for deeper insight, exploration, and advocacy. Attendees will learn about new resources that will make data analysis more accessible for staff of all skills levels. Presenters will cover the new PLA Benchmark Briefings, which will give attendees a clear snapshot into how their library measures up against others. Attendees will learn how the Benchmark Briefings can be used to advocate for additional library resources or to demonstrate to stakeholders the scope of the library’s investments. Attendees will also learn about a curated repository of data-related resources to assist library staff in determining which resource meets their specific data need.
