International Library Consultant Queens Borough Public Library
Join us for a program featuring how libraries are helping communities achieve development through programs and services speaking to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which are a call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere. The event includes an introduction and update from the Task Force, presentations by academic, public, and school librarians discussing their library’s involvement with the SDGs at various levels, beginner intermediate, and advanced. Attendees are welcomed to share briefly what they are doing if they have a project to share at the end of the event.
ALA's Task Force on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, part of ALA President Julius C. Jefferson's initiatives is developing a multi-year strategic plan to increase participation by libraries.
Libraries are key institutions for achieving the Goals. Audiences that promote and support the role libraries play in the planning and implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
