Tired of uninspired students slogging through research projects, filled with rote note-taking and questionable connection to students' interests? In partnership with our public library colleagues, let's reimagine the research process!
Integrating collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and yes, even creativity, into the research process helps to prepare students for the challenges of today's world. By working in tandem with the local public library, students have increased access to materials and experiences.
Participants will identify opportunities to increase student engagement and excitement through renewed focus on questioning strategies, resource curation, and information evaluation. Challenges and opportunities of teaching and programming in a pandemic environment are addressed.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify strengths in their program to serve as building blocks for integrating real-world challenges.
Upon completion, participant will identify opportunities to increase student engagement and excitement by revitalizing questioning strategies, thoughtful resource curation, and focus on evaluating relevant information.
