This presentation will share how our library used our college’s new text messaging platform, “Cadence” by Mongoose Research, to promote library tools, services, and events with the greater college community. It will summarize the types of messages sent, to what populations, and describe statistics gathered regarding community engagement and tool/service usage. Lessons learned regarding content planning, specifically as it relates to the importance of message phrasing, links, and timing, will be discussed, and best practices for implementing similar library marketing campaigns at other institutions will be shared.
