Planning a virtual event? Learn about library vendor experiences as an exhibitor and sponsor at virtual conferences. Conference planners had to adapt quickly from an in-person event to a virtual environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conferences typically rely on exhibitors and sponsorships to cover the costs of conference space, giveaways, and refreshments. Moving to a virtual space meant that library vendors would not have the contact time they typically have during a traditional conference. Virtual conferences have been implemented in various ways. One survey sought to assess how virtual conference planners solicited exhibitors and sponsors and what opportunities were offered to registered participants. Another survey sought to determine vendor satisfaction as an exhibitor or sponsor in a virtual environment.
Explore what library vendors enjoyed by participating at virtual events as well as things that did not work out so well. This session will present best practices for exhibitor and sponsor engagement in order to increase satisfaction at your next virtual event.
