 The 2021 ACVS Virtual Surgery Summit,
October 7–9 and beyond!

 

The ACVS Continuing Education Committee is working with seminar chairs and speakers to provide a virtual continuing education experience in lieu of the in-person 2021 Surgery Summit. The virtual format will continue to provide the excellent content and highest level of veterinary surgical education that have been the hallmark of the Summit.

What's Coming

More than 30 seminars will be presented live and on-demand as part of the 2021 Virtual Surgery Summit packageThe package includes:

Live Seminars
Seminars will be presented virtually October 7–9, the original three days of the Surgery Summit. The lectures within the seminars will be pre-recorded to avoid last-minute challenges. All panel discussions, Q&A, and the Residents' Forums will occur live and participation from attendees will be highly encouraged.

On-Demand Seminars
The package will also provide on-demand access to all recorded seminars, including the general practitioners' and technicians' programs, through November 30, 2021, offering the potential to earn more than 100 continuing education credits. 

Mark W. Allam Lecture

Keeping with the Surgery Summit tradition, the virtual meeting will open Thursday, October 7, with Dr. Kelly Posner, director of the Columbia Lighthouse Project, delivering the prestigious Mark W. Allam Lecture via livestream.

Keynote Lectures
Following Dr. Posner’s presentation, Michael Pavletic, DVM, DACVS, will deliver his keynote lecture “Closing Holes—Clinical Perspective in Small Animal Reconstructive Surgery.” Friday, October 8, keynote lecturer Michael Conzemius, DVM, PhD, DACVS, will present “Canine Elbow Surgery—What to Do When You Experience Frustration.”

Virtual Exhibits
ACVS is excited to offer virtual exhibits. Visitors can chat with exhibitors virtually October 7–8 to find the right products and services to support their practice’s or hospital’s needs.

*If you are registered for the in-person Surgery Summit, look for additional information in the next week on how to join the Virtual Surgery Summit and take advantage of all it has to offer. Note that if you registered after the early-bird rate closed, you will be refunded the difference between what you paid and the early-bird rate.

If you would like to register for the live Virtual Surgery Summit,
registration will re-open the week of September 20. Stay tuned for an invitation to register.

If you are unable to attend the live Virtual Surgery Summit,
you may purchase the Virtual Surgery Summit On-Demand Only package through October 15, 2021. Or, if you prefer to purchase individual seminars, they will be available on-demand and for purchase on or about October 18, 2021, through December 31, 2022. Watch your email for more information.
