Courtney Matrunick graduated from Elon College with a degree in Psychology and a special interest in Exercise Science. She went on to receive her doctorate in Physical Therapy at Elon University in 2006 has been a physical therapist for UNC Health Care since 2007. She specialize in the treatment for those with neurological conditions, with a special interest in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. She also has her certification in aquatic therapy which has proven to help improve outcomes for her patients. In addition to her clinical roles, she also provides care and her expertise for the UNC ALS clinic and UNC Wheelchair Clinics. She is employed by Elon University in Burlington, NC as an adjunct professor to assist with the neurological rehabilitation module. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she has helped work with patients with post COVID related deficits within the UNC COVID Recovery Clinic. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 children and husband, exercising, spending time outdoors and traveling.
