Marlena Matusewicz, PsyD, ABPP-CN is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist at the flagship facility of Atrium Health (formerly Carolinas HealthCare System). She completed her predoctoral internship in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. She then went on to a rehabilitation neuropsychology fellowship at the University of Virginia Health Science System. Currently, within the Neuropsychology Department at Carolinas Rehabilitation, she provides comprehensive outpatient neuropsychological evaluations with adults with a wide variety of neurological conditions, including neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy, brain injury, cerebrovascular disease, and movement disorders. Clinical duties also include the determination of decision-making capacity of medically complex patients on an inpatient consultation basis. Dr. Matusewicz has been integral in developing service lines for interdisciplinary programs focusing on presurgical evaluation of both epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease patient populations. She has been involved in multiple sponsored clinical trials involving pharmacologic interventions for Alzheimer’s disease. She is currently an active member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and has served on numerous task forces and committees, including the Women in Leadership committee and the Program Committee.
