Preeti Raghavan, M.D., is an associate professor in the departments of physical medicine and rehabilitation and neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is a Sheikh Khalifa Stroke Institute Endowed Chair. She is the director of the Center of Excellence in Stroke Treatment, Recovery and Rehabilitation at the Sheikh Khalifa Stroke Institute at Johns Hopkins, where she leads the re-design of care delivery after stroke using innovative approaches. She also serves as a vice chair for research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is director of the Motor Recovery Research Lab where she works with a multidisciplinary group of physicians, therapists and engineers. Her research interests include the recovery of arm and hand function after brain injury, understanding the mechanisms and treatment of muscle stiffness, investigating how emotional regulation interacts with recovery, and improving access to cost-effective stroke rehabilitation.
