CO-Director, Department of Neuropsychology
Dr. Cynthia Salorio is a board-certified neuropsychologist and research scientist, and is co-director in the Department of Neuropsychology. She is also an associate professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and associate professor of Psychiatry at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Salorio received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She completed a pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology and clinical child psychology at the University of California, San Diego, and a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Salorio is a licensed psychologist in Maryland and is board certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology with specialty board certification in pediatric neuropsychology.
She currently conducts research and provides clinical neuropsychological services to children with neurological conditions throughout the Kennedy Krieger Institute's Rehabilitation Continuum of Care, with a particular interest in acquired brain injury and epilepsy.
Dr. Salorio has a primary interest in brain-behavior relationships in children with a variety of acquired and congenital neurological disorders. Her research has examined predictors of outcome in children with traumatic and acquired brain injury, epilepsy, and other children at risk for neurocognitive difficulties.
