Anjali Sivaramakrishnan is an Assistant Professor in the department of physical therapy at UT Health San Antonio. Her background and training include physical therapy education with a masters in neurological rehabilitation from India and a doctorate in rehabilitation sciences from UIC. Dr. Sivaramakrishnan’s research interest is in the field of non-invasive brain stimulation and neuromodulation. Her research involves investigating neurophysiological mechanisms underlying motor recovery in stroke and developing interventions for improving neuroplasticity in stroke and other populations. She is also interested in examining the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation, virtual reality and exercise priming as adjuncts to physical therapy for improving movement and community participation in individuals with stroke and spinal cord injury. Dr. Sivaramakrishnan currently coordinates the neuroscience course within the DPT program and teaches in areas related to neuroplasticity and neurological rehabilitation.
