Katherine S. McGilton (RN, PhD) is a Senior Scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute-University Health Network and a Professor at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. She has research funding as the principal investigator from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Alzheimer Society of Canada, and the MOH<C. She was recently inducted into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences Research for her work on building research capacity to both lead and to contribute to interdisciplinary research, practice, education and policy in Long Term Care Homes. She is currently the co-lead of the Quality of Life Theme and on the Research Executive Committee for the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA). Her work has examined the nature of relationships between nursing staff and older adults and between staff and their supervisors in long-term care and the effect on staff outcomes and quality of care of older adults.
