Susan Lin, ScD, OTR/L, FAOTA, FACRM is an occupational therapist and the Program Director for Rehab Essentials’ post-professional occupational therapy doctorate program. Dr. Lin serves on Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute’s (PCORI) Clinical Trials Advisory Panel. health scientist. She is the former Research Director of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Her research interests include patient-centered outcomes research, stroke rehabilitation, rehabilitation treatment specification, and dissemination and implementation science.
She has served as the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Stroke (ACRM) ISIG Movement Interventions Task Force Co-Chair, Rehabilitation and Treatment Specification Networking Group’s Communications Officer, and member of the Program Committee for nine years. She is a member of the Health Services Research Networking Group and the Dissemination and Implementation Task Force. Dr. Lin was awarded Boston University’s Occupational Therapy Outstanding Alumni Award as well as the Fellow Award from AOTA and ACRM.
Dr. Lin’s past leadership positions include Virginia Representative to AOTA Representative Assembly; PCORI Clinical Effectiveness and Decision Science Advisory Panel member, Mentor Reviewer, Merit Reviewer, Ambassador; President of Pi Theta Epsilon, and Vice-President of the Virginia Occupational Therapy Association. She received her research doctorate in therapeutic studies from Boston University, her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University-Medical College of Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of William and Mary.
