Acquired Brain Injury Post-Acute Occupational Therapy Manager
Eugenia "Genia" Herbst, OTR/L is the ABI Post-Acute OT Manager at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Genia has been practicing in the rehabilitation setting for more than 30 years. She is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, now Augusta University, and is pursuing her Doctor of Occupational Therapy at Eastern Kentucky University. Genia also serves as part-time Clinical Adjunct Faculty in the Occupational Therapy Program at Brenau University. Genia has served as primary therapist for clients of varying age level and diagnoses and has specialized in neurological disorders. She has extensive experience and continuing education in the areas of assessment & intervention for Acquired Brain Injury clients across the continuum of care. She serves as a member of the ABI leadership team, providing clinical oversight for Complex Concussive, Share Military, Pathways day and outpatient programming. She has presented clinical information for Acquired Brain Injury and Occupational Therapy clinical education at the local, state, regional, and national levels. She has worked as an Occupational Therapy clinical educator for many years and enjoys developing students and new practitioners.
