Elkins Prk, Pennsylvania
Dr. Mary Ferraro has worked at MossRehab and the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute for over 35 years, serving in a variety of leadership, research and direct service roles. Initially a staff occupational therapist on the inpatient unit of the brain injury center, she later became a therapy supervisor. Concurrent roles in research and the clinic allowed her to more systematically study naturalistic action performance in patients and examine how occupational therapy is delivered and documented. Mary has been a member of the Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System research team since its inception in 2009 and educates MossRehab clinicians about treatment articulation/description in acute rehabilitation. Her responsibilities for therapist development are also addressed by serving as the Coordinator of the advanced practice OT Fellowship Program in Physical Rehabilitation, accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. She chairs the BIC Education Committee and is responsible for planning monthly education for the clinical staff on brain injury as well as the disseminating materials for the Moss TBI Model System project. Lastly, chairs the Peer Review Committee, which provides scientific oversight for clinical rehab research projects.
