Kelley obtained her B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 2015, M.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University (CSU) in 2017, and completed her Ph.D. in 2021 from the Occupational Therapy Department at CSU.
As a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Cancer Exercise Trainer, Kelley has worked to support individuals with cancer and other chronic health conditions in various community-based and academic clinical settings. In 2017, she co-founded the Fitness Therapy (Fit) for Cancer Program at CSU. The focus of Kelley’s research is implementation, accessibility and effectiveness of cancer rehabilitation and community-based exercise programs. She is currently leading the development and dissemination of the Exercise in Cancer Evaluation and Decision Support (EXCEEDS) algorithm.
