Exercise training, research relies on interdisciplinary work since it addresses many health issues from a diverse range of health-related sciences and disciplines composed of clinical and applied health professionals and scientists (i.e., sports medicine, rehabilitation medicine, exercise physiology, kinesiology, nursing, psychology, and biology). In addition, this symposium is addressing the application of technology for exercise prescription and adherence in the older adult population. Thus, technology research for older adults relies on interdisciplinary work to be successful and applicable to the user, including scientists from gerontology, human factors, psychology, engineering sciences, and clinical and applied health professions.
