Japan’s promulgation of the ‘Free and Open Indo-Pacific Policy’ has garnered much attention in light of concerns of impacts and/or ramifications on the regional and global world order. Another question that has arisen is the role of domestic policies and their impact. This panel seeks to answer some of these questions that have arisen. The panel focuses on the impact of the policy in three major countries: India, China, and the Philippines. The researchers find that the policy has faced many challenges in all three countries but also finds good prospects for the future.
