Eun Ah CHO is a research associate and lecturer in the Department of East Asian Studies at University of California, Irvine. Her research focuses on how the representations create stereotyped images and social discourse on the marginalized sectors in South Korean society. Her publications on North Korean refugees and their media and literary representations have appeared in Cross-Currents: East Asian History and Culture Review (2018) and in Rediscovering Korean Cinema (University of Michigan Press, 2019). She is currently working on her book titled, Becoming North Koreans: North Korean Defectors in Korean Literature, Cinema, and Media.
