Dr. Patel earned his dental and medical degrees from New York University. Following his residency training at NYU Langone Medical Center, he completed fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Patel is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Patel’s practice includes surgical oncology (removal of benign and malignant tumors of the head, neck, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, skull base and salivary glands), transoral robotic surgery (TORS), microvascular head and neck reconstruction, craniomaxillofacial trauma surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, sleep surgery, and corrective jaw surgery. He is a key member of the Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Programs and at Providence Cancer Institute and Legacy Cancer Institute, both in Portland, OR and directs a multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Clinic at Providence St Vincent Medical Center. He is Fellowship Director of Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Microsurgery for the Providence Cancer Institute, and Director of Craniomaxillofacial and Neck Trauma and Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.
Dr. Patel’s current research endeavors are focused on treatment strategies for head and neck cancer, optimizing outcomes following cancer therapy, and developing protocols for cancer surveillance and head and neck reconstruction.
