Nicholas Makhoul is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with sub-specialization in Maxillofacial Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery. He received his BSc with distinction from the University of Alberta in Biochemistry, DMD at McGill University and his MD at the University of Michigan. He completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as a fellowship in Maxillofacial Oncology and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Makhoul is associate professor and associate dean of post-graduate dental education at McGill University, and Chief of the department of Dentistry and OMFS at the McGill University Health Centre.
Dr. Makhoul maintains an active academic practice at the Montreal General Hospital, as well as being largely involved resident and fellow training. His research interests are in translational research as it pertains to craniofacial tissue engineering and quality assessment and outcomes in maxillofacial surgery.
