After a quick review of basic technical aspects of MRI, namely hardware and pulse sequence developments, this lecture will address research exploring the clinic needs not being adequately covered with existing clinical imaging systems in dentistry. Furthermore, it will outline the risk, benefits, and alternative of future use of MRI in Endodontics so that the practicing clinician can make informed decisions when such technologies become commercially available.
