AFG Grant Application – What You Need to Know

Triad has heard that the next round of FEMA’s Aid to Firefighters Grants (AFG) may open in mid-November.

Although this has not yet been confirmed, it does serve as a reminder that now is the time to start laying the ground work for a highly-competitive application.

Each year, the AFG Program receives roughly 12,000 applications nationwide, but funds only about 20% of them.

FEMA’s highly-competitive Aid to Firefighters Grants (AFG) Program just opened and competition nationwide is expected to be formidable as always.

Each year, only about 20% of the more than 12,000 AFG applications received are funded.

And depending on what an applicant is requesting, the odds of success can go down even further.

Before writing your AFG application, do you know the answers to the following questions?

  • What phrases are reviewers looking for in the application narrative?
  • What are the project cost thresholds that make some applications more likely to be funded?
  • Which sections of the AFG application are getting the most attention from reviewers?
  • What common errors cause an AFG application to be rejected without ever getting read by a reviewer?

The grant writers at Triad know the answers to these questions.

The work that first responders do, and the equipment they need to do it, are too important to leave to chance.

You need the experience and expertise of Triad Associates to help your AFG application stand out in the crowd.

Our grant writers have participated in numerous AFG workshops and public safety grant writing seminars.

We know what the reviewers are looking for and we know how to give it to them.

Whether you need equipment, turnout gear, a vehicle or any of the many items funded by the AFG Program, Triad is well-positioned to write a strong, competitive application for you.
