Small environmentally conscious food choices have been making a big impact on our South San Francisco campus. By adjusting the default ordering to a plant-based alternative in our employee cafeterias, data from a pilot study revealed that meat consumption per transaction decreased by nearly 20%. This initiative is just one of many efforts underway to help us lower our environmental footprint by 50% by 2025: http://spr.ly/6046b5pp4

We prioritize diversity across all aspects of our business, which is why we’re ahead of schedule to reach our aspiration to invest $1B annually with diverse suppliers by 2025. In 2023 alone, we spent $964.2M with diverse suppliers, a $229M annual increase since 2020. Today, 38 of our labs have achieved “My Green Lab” certification, a program recognized by the United Nations “Race to Zero” campaign as a key measure of progress towards a zero-carbon future. Our goal is to certify all labs by 2027. Through this certification, we’ve improved overall lab sustainability by an average of 30%, resulting in a reduction of CO2 emissions by 138 metric tons per year – equivalent to the annual electricity use of 27 U.S. homes! For us, inclusive research is not about checking a box, it’s about better serving patients and evolving the way we design and execute all clinical studies across our business. In 2023, we expanded our Advancing Inclusive Research (AIR) Site Alliance footprint, bringing clinical studies to more communities who have historically been left out. And we’re seeing real results. Our AIR Site Alliance sites are enrolling more diverse patient populations two times faster compared to their study peers. Check out our latest D&I Annual Report to learn more about how we’re setting industry standards for inclusive research: http://spr.ly/6041w4m85
