Chief Policy & Programs Officer Amputee Coalition Washington, District of Columbia
This session will walk through the ways in which you can enhance the patient-centered care your practice provides by focusing on resources and supports that are available beyond clinical prosthetic care. Patient centeredness focuses on the whole patient and helping them in their recovery and readjustment. The free programs and resources available to you and your patients that will help to improve this dynamic and enhance the care you already provide will be highlighted. The Amputee Coalition is the leading patient advocacy organization serving the needs of people living with limb loss and limb difference and is enhancing access to publications and peer support. We’ll discuss how you can access patient-centered resources that are vetted and approved by the Amputee Coalition’s Scientific & Medical Advisory Committee, gain a better understanding of peer support and how your practice can benefit from encouraging patient participation (both in getting patients trained to be peer visitors and in helping facilitate peer visits), and we’ll talk about ways you can elevate patient outcomes through the use of the Coalition’s Hospital Partnership Program and other resources.
