Implementation of evidence into practice is an important component of care improvement; however, a research-to-practice-gap exists. The purpose of this special symposium is to discuss the importance of implementation research in the rehabilitation context and highlight some of the research being done across the implementation phases of Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, and Sustainment (EPIS framework). Four original research presentations will provide examples of projects in each of these phases across a variety of settings and patient populations.
Identify key considerations for the different stages of implementation research.
2. Compare determinants of successful implementation across a variety of organizational settings.
Discuss the applicability of key implementation science concepts to the individual’s own clinical and/or research practice area.
