Clinical Assistant Professor
Jennifer de la Cruz has been a certified and licensed physician assistant, working with older adults since 2001. She course directs both Clinical Medicine 1 and Clinical Medicine 3 for the physician assistant students at Mercer University. She received the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning grant from Mercer University, which enabled her to revise the course’s curriculum and introduce innovative clinical experiences for her didactic year students to engage earlier with older adult patients during their geriatric module.
Jennifer has strong ties with community providers that serve patients in skilled nursing facilities, where she continues to practice clinically. Currently, she sits on the Board of Directors of GMDA- Georgia Society of Post-Acute Long-Term Care Medicine. Jennifer is deeply committed to improving the lives of older adults. Her involvement with this project has allowed her to utilize her expertise in curriculum renewal and improving care of the older adult.
