Physical Therapist, ABI Unit
I am a physical therapist with 17 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation, primarily with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). I provide therapeutic intervention in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team for patients affected by traumatic brain injuries, CVAs and other acquired brain injuries. I also work with patients affected by both brain and spinal cord injuries. I am a full-time therapist at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA. I also mentor new staff on treatment interventions and treatment progressions. I serve as a center wide resource for serial casting, lower extremity splint fabrication, trigger point dry needling and new treatment interventions. I have a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University. My work is focused on improving overall functional mobility and increased independence in patients with acquired brain injuries. I am keenly interested in interventions that improve independence, community living and health and function for people have suffered an ABI.
