Mikros designs and manufactures optimized thermal management solutions for high heat flux semiconductor and optics applications. Our patented Normal Flow™ microchannel and mini-channel liquid cold plates provide industry-leading low thermal resistance and pressure drop, giving designers greater thermal budgets to improve the performance, packaging, and reliability of their systems.
Born 30 years ago from a project to cool the Space Station with NASA Johnson Space Center, the Mikros design team seeks the most difficult cooling challenges to develop cutting edge solutions to common thermal performance limitations. Our single cold plates and multiple cold plate assemblies range in size from 4-15,000 mm2, are as thin as 3mm, and can accommodate multiple heat zones, geometries, materials, TIM and pressure distribution needs. All Mikros cold plate designs are prototyped, tested and manufactured at our facilities in New Hampshire, USA.
What does a Mikros Thermal Solution mean for your design?
Greater Energy Budget: More effective heat transfer means higher power capacities for semiconductors and electronics, smaller heat-rejection systems, higher fluid inlet temperatures, and tighter packaging.
Larger Thermal Capacities: High heat dissipation allows the absorption of greater temperature spikes that can damage a system during normal operation.
Tighter Thermal Requirements: Core thermal resistances below 0.02 C-cm2/W allow inlet fluid temps to be closer to the max component temps as power is transferred to the coolant more efficiently.
Hot-Spot Mitigation: Flow channels can be tailored to eliminate hot spots and temperature gradients.
Increased System Life and Reliability: Sustained lower junction temperatures can dramatically lengthen the life of critical electronic components.
