The Center for Research on Innovative Simulation Software (CISS) was founded in January 2008 as the official research center of Institute of Industrial Science (IIS) of The University of Tokyo. Since 2008, the CISS has focused on the following objectives: (1) research and development of advanced, world-leading simulation software, (2) diffusion of research achievements to the related industries, and (3) reinforcement of our educational capacity to increase the human resources, which will be available for the development and use of advanced simulation software.
The CISS not only continues to promoting the collaboration among industry, academia, and government to develop advanced simulation software but also encourages its use in real-world applications. The overarching objective of the advanced simulation software developed by the CISS was to use supercomputer Fugaku to contribute to resolving a number of social and scientific issues.
