LUMI: EuroHPC world-class supercomputer. LUMI, one of the EuroHPC pre-exascale supercomputers, will be located at CSC's data center in Kajaani, Finland. The supercomputer will be hosted by the LUMI consortium including ten European countries. The LUMI (Large Unified Modern Infrastructure) consortium countries are Finland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland. Operations will start in mid-2021. LUMI will be one of the world's best known scientific instruments for the lifespan of 2021-2026.
The acquisition and operation of the EuroHPC supercomputer is funded jointly by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, through the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility and the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, as well as the Participating States FI, BE, CH, CZ, DK, EE, IS, NO, PL, SE.
LUMI supercomputer has received additional funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) which is granted by Kainuun liitto.
