Steven Haynes is the Director and Assistant Professor of Practice for the Risk Management and Insurance Program at The University of Texas at Dallas. Steven most recently served as the Property Risk and Claims Manager for Lennox International, Inc. During this time, Steven served as the on-site project manager for a $370M property loss in Marshalltown, IA. With over ten years of experience, including working for Liberty Mutual Insurance, IAT Insurance Group, and the City of Allen, Steven focuses on operational improvements through creative problem solving, data driven analytics, organic team building, and strategic partnerships with industry leaders.
Steven recently completed coursework for his Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University. His dissertation examines the impact of COVID on employee well-being as it relates to their abilities and concerns to returning-to-work. He will defend his dissertation shortly. Steven also holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Texas, where he specialized in public policy and risk analysis. Areas of current research interests include risk analysis, risk perception, organizational culture, and disaster science. Steven proudly served in the U.S. Navy, and resides in Allen with his wife and two children.
