This presentation will be introducing the attendees to the updated 2018 NFPA 1403 which has many changes in it from the last edition. Topics will include ( Prerequisites for participants, required minimum training, new safety officer responsibilities, new instructor qualifications and a review of new sections covering mobile enclosed live fire training props). The attendees will be engaged with questions about their understanding and use of this standard. They will be given examples of incidents that have resulted in injuries or deaths as well as the changes that were made resulting in the current standard.
The participant will fully understand the immediate relevance and impact that the understanding and utilizing NFPA 1403 will have on the safety of all who participate in live fire training.
The participant will understand the problems and the solutions during live fire training that where addressed in the new edition of NFPA 1403 .
The participant will have a firm understanding of the required qualifications and responsibilities of the instructors and student at a live burn.
