Community Risk Reduction in the United States is beginning to replace our traditional and blanketed approaches to fire prevention. We all can list the community-focused benefits derived from CRR programs, but few address the organizational side-effects. Community Risk Reduction provides real benefit to more than just the community; agencies find desirable side effects that often are overlooked and frequently not capitalized upon.
The participant will understand and discuss the specific side-effects of effectively developed community risk reduction programs.
The participant will understand the important components of community risk reduction program development to improve community engagement.
The participant will identify and act upon opportunities within their organization to capitalize on community risk reduction side effects and improve their community.
