Dr. Finn is a clinician investigator at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, as well as an adjunct assistant professor in the research track at the University of Minnesota's Department of Psychiatry. He completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at Kent State University, his graduate studies in clinical psychology at The University of Tulsa, his predoctoral internship at the Minneapolis VAHCS, and his post-doctoral fellowship in clinical assessment at Kent State University. Dr. Finn joined the Minneapolis VA Rehabilitation Psychology Team in December 2014. He is now the site Principal Investigator for the VA TBI Model Systems research endeavor, a longitudinal study of TBIs at all severity levels. Dr. Finn's research focuses on 1) the bi-directional influences between illness/injury and mental health, specifically using dimensional models of psychopathology; 2) tailoring treatment based on patient's individual differences; and 3) the bi-directional influences between rehabilitation/recovery and interpersonal functioning. Dr. Finn also proudly provides psychological and personality assessments to the Veterans served by the Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program, the Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program, the outpatient TBI team, and the Caregiver Support Program.
