Julianna Prim received her doctorate in Human Movement Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research has focused on neurophysiology with the goal to improve concussion care with in the military. She has investigated exertional and physiological effects of concussion and if a short, ecologically valid exercise task could be used to assist clinicians with return-to-duty decisions. She has utilized heart rate variability (HRV) and heart rate as objective physiological measures and has worked on multiple projects in a rehabilitation environment to assess dual-task and movement differences between servicemembers with long term concussive symptoms and healthy servicemembers.
