CreateAbility Concepts Inc.
My team has the technical expertise and experience to design the computer pattern recognition subsystem, oversee the development, train the expert system, and coordinate and manage all aspects of this project in my role as the PI. I have been studying the needs of special populations, including individuals with a dual Intellectual and behavioral diagnosis, since 2009, and developing technical solutions to bridge gaps between an individual’s functional assessment and their goals since that time. I have been the PI on 26 NIDILRR (previously NIDRR) SBIR projects, and have received awards for accounting and schedule performance, as well as knowledge transfer. I have also managed the transition into Phase III of our previous Phase II projects, including coordinating marketing release, as well as raising funds for the commercialization.
I have been a volunteer as well for 25 years in helping people with disabilities, and CreateAbility sponsors athletes each year for the Special Olympics and local athletic events for people with special needs. I also have been in charge of fundraising for special events, such as the Therapuetic Aquatic Training program that helps seniors with disabilities exercise without the affect of gravity via their buoyancy in water. CreateAbility also donates assistive technology each year to help people with intellectual disabilities increase their independence in home, educational and vocational settings.
I am an active member of the Mayor’s Council on Disabilities in Indianapolis, and serve in the Business Leadership Network, which is an employer-led coalition focused on increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
I currently consult with city planners and government facilities on how to make their facilities more accessible and safer for individuals with intellectual disabilities and TBI survivors.
