Melissa Nicole Galick graduated from Marquette University with her Bachelor's Degree of Science/Athletic Training in 2011 and Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. She has been a practicing clinical physical therapist for 7 years where she currently works at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab Homewood DayRehab Center primarily treating patients with various neurological impairments including but not limited to stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, MS, PD, cancer, etc. Melissa works with patients with a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in southern Chicagoland and northwest Indiana at an insurance based practice with the goal to provide evidence based treatments and interventions for physical impairments and limitations. Melissa and her two cohorts were the recipient of the prestigious James Brown IV Fellowship for their research efforts in July 2019 and have been conducting a feasibility study at the day rehab level of care in conjunction with University of Illinois Chicago for which she will be presenting their findings at ACRM this year under the title "Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation for Stroke: From Research Studies to Clinical Implementation".
