Dr. Kennedy is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gerontology, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care in the Department of Medicine at UAB. He has dual training as a doctoral-level biostatistician (with post-doctoral training in statistical genetics) and as a psychiatrist (with fellowship training in psychosomatic medicine). His primary interest is in the intersection between medical illness and neurobehavioral disorders in the aging process. He has been an investigator on multiple studies examining TBI and comorbid conditions, including delirium, major depression, and obesity. He currently serves as the primary biostatistician for the UAB TBI Model Systems, and has authored or co-authored numerous publications on cognitive, emotional, and social function of patients in the rehabilitation setting.
