Jaime graduated from University of Kansas Medical Center in 2010 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. For 10 years, she has practiced in inpatient rehabilitation primarily working with patients with stroke. Jaime is currently working at Baylor Scott & White Insititute for Rehabilitaiton in Dallas, Texas, and practices as part of an evidenced-based and innovative CVA team. She has advanced certification in Neuro-IFRAH, has taught multiple continuing education courses at BSWIR on the management of the patient post-stroke, and acts as a mentor across the continuum. At BSWIR, Jaime is active in research and quality improvement in areas focusing on health literacy and best practice for patients with stroke and had a case report published in 2018 on the unique management of contraversive pushing post-stroke. Jaime teaches annual guest lectures and labs at local DPT programs in Dallas, Texas, educating students on critical thinking in inpatient rehabilitation and a variety of stroke-specific specialty topics. Jaime has presented continuing education for St. Francis Hospital System in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a guest speaker in 2019 focusing on the topic of motor relearning post-stroke. In addition, she has presented posters at Combined Sections Meeting in 2016 and 2017 and ACRM in 2019 with topics focused on health literacy and stroke-specific quality improvement / research. At ACRM 2019, Jaime presented an oral educational presentation on the management of patients post-stroke with contraversive pushing. Jaime is passionate about working with the stroke population as well as advancing research to improve outcomes for these patients.
