Kathryn Kieffer is a tenured speech-language pathologist and primary CARF program outcome evaluator at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital Polytrauma Brain Injury Program in Tampa, FL. She has over 20 years of clinical experience with specialization in the assessment and treatment of moderate to severe cognitive-communication deficits in veteran and active duty patients. She served as key stakeholder in developing and adapting interventions for managing acutely confused neurorehabilitation admissions. She has participated in national multi-center research protocols examining recovery and outcomes in the emerging consciousness population, as well as assessment and treatment outcomes in persons with sleep apnea and brain injury. Kathryn collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to develop clinical intervention programs with the goal of improving the quality of rehabilitation services for person’s with acquired brain injury.
